Overview:
Enigma is a simple brain teaser. Enigma has five levels of
play that go from Beginner through Expert. Other features include
Save a game, Load a game, Statistics, and four sets of Graphics.
Objective:
The objective of the game is quite simple, to solve the
enigma. The enigma is a set of four, five, or six colored icons that
the computer randomly selects at the beginning of each game. The
player must not only deduce the particular icons that the computer
selected, but must also deduce the order in which they appear. In
addition, the computer can select any combination of the eight icons,
including multiple instances.
How to play:
Select an icon by clicking on it. Move the mouse cursor to
the top-most row of blank buttons. Assign the selected icon to a
blank button by clicking on it. Continue to assign icons until the
top-most row has no blank buttons. A button can be reassigned icons
as often as you desire. When you are satisfied with the top-most row
you can have the row evaluated by clicking on the VERIFY button.
Clicking the VERIFY button does four things, it shows you how many
icons are correctly located by displaying a green light-bulb for
each occurence, how many icons are incorrectly located by displaying
a yellow light-bulb for each occurrence, how many incorrect icons
have been selected by displaying a red light-bulb for each
occurrence, and it will enable the next row of buttons for play.
The game is continued in this manner until either the enigma
is solved, all light-bulbs are green, or the player runs out of rows
of buttons to play.
There are also four, five, or six buttons labeled HINT.
Clicking on any of these will show you the correct icon for that
location. There is no penalty for using the HINT buttons.
